Ideas Are Scary

The following video dramatizes the struggle I've had with getting co-resolution off the ground:

Ideas are scary because they are the natural-born enemy of the way things are.  "Innovation" and "new" are buzzwords in any field, but these things are always initially resisted as unfamiliar and, well, scary.

In a similar way, co-resolution is a new approach to disputes available to mediators and lawyers.  To those already using co-resolution or considering it, I recommend that you keep offering it.  For both attorneys and mediators, it is a superior process for handling high-conflict, high-need disputes.  No other dispute resolution process ensures that the opposing side will use cooperative tactics in the negotiation.

And that is something that I think is beautiful.
